Week of 1-30 OT Thread - Ad Space For Sale...Just Kidding
Another week. Another Off-Topic Thread.
The Super Bowl is coming up this Sunday!...eh. I dislike the match-up. I guess I'm hoping for a good game...and good commercials...which leads me to this:
What is your favorite commercial from this year thus far?
What is your all-time favorite Super Bowl commercial? Old Spice's "I'm on a Horse" is my favorite. I don't use Old Spice, but that commercial is a classic.
Don't you hate it when the commercials are louder than the program you're watching?
Do you have a Super Bowl Sunday tradition? I just realized I have a film shoot on Super Bowl Sunday...hopefully I can get that fixed.
Did you know that the continents can be rearranged to form a fire-breathing T-Rex?
This will serve as the Super Bowl Game Day Thread. However, if you keep to your traditions, you will be watching with friends and not commenting on blogs about the Super Bowl. But, if you want, use this.
Question for all our European friends on here: Do you have any sports-related holiday that is "Super Bowl Sunday-esque?" El Clasico?
Have a good rest of the week everybody!

I just want to watch the game. Not big fan of either one, so no vote.
In Finland we don’t have thing like those or if we do, I’m not watching them. “Sweden – Finland” track and field is not my thing. Even if our countries keep mocking each others.
This clip tells it best, sorry Swedes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leRsWGF3mSc&skipcontrinter=1
Trevor Daley is my cup of tea.
This is what I'm going to be spending my time doing instead of watching the superbowl

I think it's called an agila (sp?) there? that's where it originated.

the smoke is cooler than a cigar, so it doesn't burn your mouth or throat.
Initial investment for a good one is about $200 (including all supplies you need), but it costs me maybe $2/ 2 hours of smoking after that.
Where as cigar smoking is a $100 investment for a mediocre humidor, and it costs me $8 per smoke.

my humidor got mold in it, and I had to toss it out.
So instead of another one, I went with the hookah instead.

I've smoked it a couple times
Actually not bad. I’d rather do that than cigarettes.

well this doesn't have the chemicals that cigs have.
it’s comparable to smoking a cigar instead.

Don't miss smoking anymore.
But do miss snuff sometimes.

Only problem with the Super Bowl is that players are so nervous.
They don’t want to become the ones who does the famous mistake. Just ask Lt. Lois Einhorn from Ace Ventura.
That’s why many other games during the season are better.

I don't know, it would have to be pretty bad to overshadow Billy freakin' Cundiff this year

Tell me about it.
Rarely has a foot torn out so many people’s hearts. This could have been our year and to have it taken from us on a 32 year chip shot by a guy who’s one job is to never miss a 32 yarder… … …yes, I’m still mad about it. They need to fire his butt.

Let him steal a potential Super Bowl Championship from you and I think you'll probably change your mind. :D

I hate how much louder commercials are!
To a certain extent I’m just used to it, I know thats just the way it is … but United Way had one during the Stars games this year that was FREAKING ABSURDLY LOUD! It was like 100% louder. Seriously, it made me want to call in/write in and complain. Made me never want to contribute to United Way again if thats how they waste my $!
they federal law regulating how loud they can be is in the process of passing.
Dems and Reps can’t agree on anything….
But they CAN all agree that commercials should be quieter.
"He punched the highlights out of her hair.... He punched the HIGHLIGHTS out of her hair!!!" -- Young Neil
That needs to pass and be applied now
"The Dallas Cowboys announced they have released Jerry Jones."
I thought it was passed and the FCC were being wusses about enforcing it.
Because the cable companies were crying about programming being national but commercials being local and they don’t have control over it all, blah, blah, blah.
maybe that's what it was.

I’ll take it.

It is extremely annoying.
To me, it’s just a reminder of why the higher cost of my cable package is worth it. It reminds me to press fast forward on my DVR. About every six months my wife will say, “Does our cable bill really have to be that high?” My response is always, “If we want to keep the DVR, then yes.” She never has a rebuttal to that.

DVR is just so awesome
I can’t imagine not having one. Before I got one ~2001? I was like no big deal. Wrong … it is a huge deal! It just moves TV watching to your schedule … even daily stuff.
My Favorites Are Usually Beer Commercials
Not sure if anyone has seen this yet....

I'm watching this gif while listening to LMFAO's "I am not a whore"
And it’s awesome.

I still think his worst offense was Kull the Conqueror.
That movie is all kinds of horrible and on my Top Ten Worst Movies of All Time list. How do you steal a line from The Empire Strikes Back and think that is okay?

"So Darth Vader said that line almost verbatim?
Ah, nobody is going to pick up on that." — screenwriter who will never work again.
Maybe the fact that this guy also penned classics like Psycho III and DOA should have been your first clue that he was a bad hire.
