New Lines To Stop The Slide
This team is limited, that much is obvious. Acquisitions that were marginal have shown their limitations (Nystrom-Dvorak-fiddler). They can't be overplayed or featured.
That being said, its "nut cutting time". Time to eval a couple of Texas Stars and, more importantly, go with an idea that I've thought of for a while.....MOVE TREVOR DALEY TO LEFT WING.
Here's my line-ups, as of JAN 22, after the 5-2 embarrassment in MIN.
VINCOUR-MORIN-ERIKSSON
DVORAK ** - PETERSEN - OTT
MORROW - DOWELL - RYDER
DALEY - WANDELL - BURISH
PARDY - ROBIDAS
SOURAY - LARSEN
FISTRIC - GOLOGOSKI

there are players out there that have disappeared...Ryder, Morrow, Fiddler. Grossmann is spooked..
On the good side, Wandell. Larsens first game back was great! I like the kid. If u need more dee- drag Lukowich up here. He'll know what to do.
This team needs a BIG spark. W/O Benn and Ribs, it has been badly exposed!!!
Oh yeah...BIG UPS to Kari Lehtonen. He has been spectacular since returning. He not gettting much help and there is no room for error.

I like the idea of line changes
But I’m not sold on your combinations. I do like the AHL guys coming in though, why not try some desperation out to send a message. I think I’d prefer something like:
Loui – Ott/Wandell – Vincour
Fraser – Ott/Wandell – Ryder
Morrow – Fiddler – Nystrom
Dvorak – Morin – Burrish
daley playing forward would only hurt our offense
he needs to be on the blue line pushing the puck through the neutral zone and setting up the offense.
however bringing up some of our better AHLers is a good idea, give them a chance to prove themselves at the highest level, and try to spark the the other by saying your not affraid to replace them.
should be an interesting week coming up with all the downtime, Gully and Joe have some work to do.
Yeah our D is shaky right now and Daley is almost always solid.
He needs to stay there. I am up for giving some Texas guys a chance in the top 6, namely Fraser and Vincour. Ryder will be fine when Ribeiro and Benn get back. He needs someone to distribute the puck and open up space.
"The Dallas Cowboys announced they have released Jerry Jones."
Scoring wingers are going to disappear whenever the two playmaking centers are out with injuries.
Ryder still leads this team in goals. And I’m not sure what you mean by Fiddler having disappeared. He’s not meant for high scoring. He and the traditional third line are the only ones who have really played consistently for most of the season. Fiddler continues to win faceoffs and cycle the puck like nobody’s business. Exactly what the third line is supposed to do.
How has Nystrom shown his limitations with 14 goals again? Were you expecting the third line to have 60 goals by now?
And how does moving Daley off of defense help, when he’s been the most consistent (and maybe the ONLY consistent) D-man we have right now? If anything, it would make our D worse, along with forcing him to play in an unfamiliar position.

RE: Fiddler and Nystrom
I temper these remarks by noting the Stars have not been trying to do “each others jobs”. That being said both Fiddler and Nystrom have NOT had the bounce in their steps to keep the puck in the other zone. To me, they look tired. That’s just not good enough.
That third line WAS cycling the puck in the beginning of the campaign. I don’t see their control to be as strong as it was. These comments apply to Nystrom and Fids. Dvorak has done somewhat better, I think.
As far a Daley goes, it causes pressure THE OTHER WAY. … into the other teams zone. We don’t have that right now. Daley stickhandles better than any of the third liners. That tells me he belongs up front, moving the puck OUT OF our zone.
