First, I guess?

Silver lining, no matter what happens tonight: there should be less red in the stands than last game, and that is always a Good Thing.

Blech....I hated the accounting classes I took in grad school.

The basic courses are geared more towards manufacturing and determining cost and sell. Has absolutely no applicability to my work (I got an MBA)

Allow me to rant here

What is it with the “oh damn…they allowed a goal. I guess we’re going to lose” attitude lately? Are you freaking kidding me? Games are 60, NOT 20, 60 minutes for a reason.
It’s one god damn goal. ONE. Can you do math? ONE. That’s only one higher than zero. How many periods are there in a hockey game? Oh what’s that? There’s three? Oh…and how many have we played? ONE! THAT MEANS THERE’S TWO MORE!
I have held it in for a couple weeks now, but I am sick and tired of that attidue from some people here. Give me a break.

lines

is it a terrible idea to throw three guys with chemistry onto the top line, like morrow, ott and loui for example? then reunite that effective nystrom/fiddler/dvorak grinding line and maybe give them second line minutes.

obviously the remaining two lines would be pretty garbage but at least that will put some stuff that has generated some semblance of offense back into the lineup and put guys back with ones they had chemistry with.

if not this, then fuck it, try goligoski at C in ribs’ spot until he comes back, can’t win many games averaging less than a goal per outing

wtf

kari lehtonen deserves to be traded to a good team

by adawk91 on Jan 20, 2012 9:43 PM CST reply actions

i'm serious

if the stars are going to be this bad this season, may as well sell off big club assets at positions where you have guys coming up in the minors and go into full rebuild mode

and kari is their most valuable piece, could easily bring a guy that would make a benn centered line as offensively talented as chicago’s top line. hell if kari’s tenure here allows a non contending team to turn ivan vishnevskiy into a top line player, then thats a win

by adawk91 on Jan 20, 2012 9:54 PM CST up reply actions

big mistake last year was misjudging where they were on the win curve

making moves like a contender when they weren’t one (overpaying for goligoski like he was the final piece to make a run, not moving b richards at the deadline)

i’m not saying they tank, but rather sell off guys who will be out of their prime before they are ready to win again.

maybe this way they can build a really good team around the talented players, instead of having 6-12 good players and 6-12 more “just a guy’s” that you overpay in order to reach the cap floor

by adawk91 on Jan 20, 2012 10:02 PM CST up reply actions

yes

fast start where they lead the pacific division at the halfway point, then an injury decimated roster playing .500 with benner and lehtonen getting every start and 982735982367923586245786239 minutes a night respectively trying to keep pace, and eventually wearing down because there were no guys that could give the team quality minutes when richards was concussed

F bombs from Fiddler

They will always call the broken stick. That was kind of bad luck in that the stick broke not because of Fiddler’s impact, but I also understand why it got called. Good luck picking that up live speed.

Best response.

Not mad at any one thing (aside from not winning). Just frustrated.

Well, they did start off a little slow in this game

Playing catch-up usually won’t win you any games.

bo knows

Minny tomorrow night. I think we’re still 2 points out of 8th. Of course we’ll bring the best out of Minny

bo knows

Travis – other teams know this and just swarm Loui. We have no one else to pick up the scoring.

No.

Robidas, Grossman, Souray.

We don’t have the forward depth to deal forwards.

Gotcha

Isn’t he a FA at the end of the year though?

Contenders will be interested in those guys.

Even if they’re just solidifying their third pair with Grossman.

We deal them off for some picks/prospects and build this team up in the offseason.

In addition, I am still hopeful that we can use some of our current picks/prospects to land a big(ish) name player and virtually restock them with the spoils from the D-men we ship to contenders. In a perfect world…

There's the stat right there.

1.8 Goals Against is FANTASTIC.

1.0 Goals For is PATHETIC.

We need a sniper. Even with Benn and Ribeiro back.
