I think he’s more "excitable" now than he was then. I used to be neutral about him. Part of it for me is he’s the "face" of NBC hockey, and their reluctance to acknowledge that the NHL actually has teams west of Detroit.

The Western Conference had a lot of the big stars back then. The broadcast schedule had to include a fair balance of Dallas and Colorado games, and I never felt like I was getting the same 6 teams shoved down my throat.

Technically correct
Hate the rule, not the call. It was a definite bat. Though if we’re hating on the rule, I can get behind that. It’s black-and-white for a reason, but it leads to issues like that.
“When any player, while in his defending zone, shoots or bats (using his hand or his stick) the puck directly (non-deflected) out of the playing surface, except where there is no glass, a penalty shall be assessed for delaying the game. When the puck is shot into the players’ bench, the penalty will not apply. When the puck is shot over the glass ‘behind’ the players’ bench, the penalty will be assessed.”

Flashbacks to the Florida Game
Seemed like they were interrupting any and all puck movement/momentum we had. Little stick lifts, being in position, etc. St. Louis is doing that to us tonight too.
It’s getting better though
I just hope we keep things simple and avoid the tendency to try too many casual or cute plays. They’re gonna have to concentrate on getting it in deep and working it.

Even if the Stars tie it up, they’d probably lose in OT or SO. Not enough offensive power. They’re lucky to have gotten this far anyway.

Stars need some more goal scorers… Lou and Benn can’t do all the work along. Ribs started to pick up, but it’s just not enough.
Trades need to happen. Like I’ve said before, the team is too inconsistent.

Pittsburgh always found ways to win even when Sid and Malkin were out. Something has to change.
Pittsburgh also has an excellent coach,
Excellent d-men, a rock-solid goalie, and a deep prospect pool to fill in when injuries happen. Remember, they managed to win the cup without any wingers. Unfortunately, we just don’t have the sheer talent that Pittsburgh does

We’ve got some talent to be sure, but prospects are a tricky thing. And it’s hard to pick up quality ones when you were as good as the Stars were for so long. At least our scouting department is still one of the best!

we have a number of prospects that are point per game players or more right now
and getting better each week. We have some hard hitting offensive D-men and Oleksiak on the way.

If we can trade him to a contender I'd be very happy
He’s getting older, and I think his decline is only going to get sharper over the next few seasons and I want him to win a Cup.
Langenbrunner was an UFA at the end of last season though
if you trade for Morrow this year, you have to pay him the rest of his contract.
I thought Loui was fine and he had a nice scoring chance early...
Morrow really ticked me off tonight. I guess he’s still hurt but that was a bum effort from him.

Don’t forget to check for hotels by the DART rail. That way you can stay at a nicer hotel that’s cheaper, and ride the rail into downtown.
