Perhaps, but how many times has Kari bailed the D out?
They left Jones WIDE open with no one anywhere near him.

The nightly (daily) ref report
No. 19 – Gord Dwyer – One of the younger refs who has been in the NHL since 2005 but has limited playoff experience. One of the best refs in terms of skating and positioning with a moderate overall call level and a tendency to talk/warn instead of call in the early going. Has previously been more assigned to the southeast division. Will make some control calls and has a slight home-team edge. Will swallow in the third but no preference to the trailing team. Moderate with the safety calls. According to an article I found, he now lives in Dallas.
No. 8 – Dave Jackson – Average skater with above average positioning and a moderate overall call level. One of the most veteran officials in the league, behind only Paul Devorski. Worked his first NHL game in 1990. Primarily assigned to the Atlantic Division. Will not make early control calls and will not swallow the whistle in the third or call more for the trailing team. Slight home-team tilt. Fairly moderate with safety calls. Worked as a substitute teacher during the NHL lockout. Called more than 1,000 NHL games. He and a linesmen were jumped an assaulted after a Bantam playoff game in 1982.

Robidas takes a fair amount of boardings like that
Heck, both of his majors from a few years back were minimal-contact maximum-awkwardness hits. They suck because the player didn’t really do anything, but that’s how the rule is written.

Some Kings fan asked me about attendance, right after I wrote this enormous blog post about it
so I was ready for it.

Some dude was running his mouth about Romo sucking to us after the game.
LA fans are die-hards for their home-town NFL team, I guess…
Razor said
“That is not a penalty” about 4 times in a row and Ralphie just sighed heavily

It's on Ott
I can’t see it, but I assume it’s a reputation call, and with Ott, I love him, but he deserves every bit of his reputation.

For hooking?
How is that a reputation call?

In the sense that he won't get the benefit of the doubt on anything
If guy falls awkwardly near Ott, the refs are going to assume he did something because he has a history of doing things they didn’t catch.

That's a horrible excuse for making one hell of a bad call at the worst moment of the game.
They’ve let everything go all game long, then with 10 mins to go in a tie game — they call that? It’s inexcusable.

Like i said, I didn't see it
So I have no idea if it was a reach and looked bad or whatever.
I just know that Ott has negative officiating karma solely of his own doing
Follow me on Twitter @ErinB_DBD
Well it is
But Ott has earned his reputation, so I don’t have a lot of sympathy for him on things like that. I figure it’s hockey karma

Thank you Daley for covering for Grossman there
"The Dallas Cowboys announced they have released Jerry Jones."
He's played well for most of the season.

Isn't he RFA?
So no rush with his contract.

Ha!

Wow he slammed his head right into the boards
"The Dallas Cowboys announced they have released Jerry Jones."
I can't see it
But it takes a lot to get checking from behind, like the most blatant of blatant, seeing only numbers from the blue-line in.
Most of the time, look for boarding rather than checking from behind.

I live to inform
You might see 5-10 checking from behind calls throughout the league all year.

I think the Stars will get a PP before the game is over
And they better cash in on it
"The Dallas Cowboys announced they have released Jerry Jones."
when he doesn't have room for a Slapshot
he wrists it in. and it usually sucks.

teams have figured out
that if you play him close, he can’t skate around you, or fake you out, or get off a slap shot.
which renders him ineffective in the offensive zone.

I know we have a tough road ahead of us, but...
it is JANUARY.
OF COURSE THIS TEAM WANTS TO GO TO THE PLAYOFFS. What team DOESN’T?
by DFWTrojanTuba on Jan 14, 2012 4:22 PM CST up reply actions
Then they need to play complete games
And stop losing every other one.
Right
but to say they don’t want the playoffs is ludicrous.

AAaawww yeah.
We might need a shirt for that, soon…

Story of this game is that the Stars special teams suck
While the Avs converted. You might not like the call, but you have to kill it. The Avs did, the Stars didn’t

I dont want to be sad today...
How much time is left?
Le sigh.
Trevor Daley is my cup of tea.
by Henri Muroke on Jan 14, 2012 4:31 PM CST up reply actions
Yup.
Not sure how much of it has to do with the late arrival back to Dallas and short turnaround afterwards…but they can’t use that as an excuse.

One of them flaws.

So when was the last time we lost to the refs?
Missed offside on the first and one of the worst penalty calls this season on the 2nd. I don’t ususally like blaming anything on the refs, but today was atrocious.
The PK was what was atrocious
Bad call or not, you have to kill them all. Stars didn’t play well enough to win regardless of what the calls were.
Follow me on Twitter @ErinB_DBD
I do agree with you about the PK and we certainly didn't play well enough to deserve the win
But still, it’s tough to take when you see so many things let go on both teams then a nothing call helps decide the game. After all, it’s not as if the team that plays better always wins.

I understand that
And if they killed like 1:45 of the deciding penalty I’d probably be more sympathetic. But 13 seconds tells me they were pouting, essentially. Bad calls happen to everyone at some point, and the good teams get through it with minimal damage.
Follow me on Twitter @ErinB_DBD
I guess that's the kicker at the moment
We aren’t a good team at the moment. We’re a team that needs all the help it can get to make the playoffs. That makes every shift and every call doublely important.

I at least partially blame this on Pacific division travel
"The Dallas Cowboys announced they have released Jerry Jones."
That was really annoying
Yes, they were awful for two periods but they were right back in it when the refs called a soft penalty when they were letting pretty much anything go. That would have been a harsh call on Atilla the Hun let alone Steve Ott.
Proud supporter of Birmingham City, Carling Cup Winners 2011
I don't think Trevor's magic numbers will look too good tomorrow.
This was a must-win game, and they lost.
Teams that lose every other game do not make the playoffs. They just don’t.
Sick of this BS!!!
Do something Joe!!!!! Obviously this isn’t a team that string wins together. Give whatever it takes to bring in Nash.

Or somebody.
We need an upgrade. This group looks no better than 10th place.
Post game thread.
More to come, but come on over and talk about the loss.

If you wanna keep bringing more fans to the AAC....
You better do something quick to get this shit going to make a run to the playoffs.
