Ex-Star Skrastins among dead in KHL plane crash?
A plane crash in Russia has killed the roster of the KHL team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, which included former Dallas Stars defenseman Karlis Skrastins. Among the other ex-NHLers on the roster were Pavol Demitra, Ruslan Salei, Karel Rachunek, Josef Vasicek, and their coach Brad McCrimmon.

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl's Season Cancelled
I think it would have been too awkward and heart-wrenching to try and have a season with new players and a whole new team. The fans, management and everyone involved with the team need a year to recover. It was bad enough that the plane was still smouldering and the KHL was already calling for three players from each team to be donated to the team and that the season would still start on schedule. Glad cooler heads prevailed….
