I don't know how much of you are keeping up with the playoffs challenge set up in April, but I just took a look at the standings, and it appears I'm not doing too badly.
Here are the standings as of May 29.
(I'm Trojan Stars Fan)
(While I could have written these out, I'm far too lazy to do that at 1:30 in the morning, and I think pictures are better.)
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to keep up with the NHL playoffs as much as I'd like to, given that I don't have Versus at home...but we now know that the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins will be facing off against each other this year, as the Canucks try to win their first Cup in franchise history (the Vancouver Millionaires won the Cup in 1915, so the city has won the cup before, but not in a long time.) The Canucks last went to the Finals in 1994, when they lost to the New York Rangers in 7 games. If Vancouver wins, it will be the first time a Canadian team will have won the Cup since 1993, when the Montreal Canadiens won it all.
The Boston Bruins haven't won the Stanley Cup since 1972, and haven't appeared in the Finals since 1990, when the Edmonton Oilers won 4-1. Either way, both teams will be very eager to win it all this year, and I'm sure their respective fanbases would like to have the cup as well.
Now that I'm done briefly talking about the teams, go out and make your picks and list them below (I'm thinking Vancouver in 6). Apparently there's a bonus in picking the amount of goals scored throughout the series in case there's a tie, so make sure you write that as well.
Have a great summer everyone!
