Skrastins Rumors Circulating This Tuesday Morning...
According to the Russian sports site sovsport.ru, someone with the KHL team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl is giving quotes indicating that they have signed Stars defenseman Karlis Skrastins.
After a call to Frisco this morning I think that while this is ultimately a possibility, it's not true today and that Mr. Skrastins is keeping his options open moving forward with the Stars, the NHL, and the KHL.
After all, why, unless he was just determined to go to Europe, would he make such a decision before NHL free agency begins on July 1st? Until then he's a Dallas Star.
Sounds like ESPN Dallas was told the same thing, here via twitter.

since Skrastins is under contract until July 1
would the KHL have to honor that by not signing him until after that point? I thought there was an agreement in place between the two leagues after the Radulov debacle.
Maybe there was some sort of verbal agreement between Yaroslavl and Skrastins’ agent saying that they would be his first choice should he decide to go back?

I say let him go
because he’s garbage. The only reason he blocks so many shots is because he is usually out of position anyways…
