Texas Stars Rally For 3-2 OT Win, Lead Series 2-1
In case you missed it the Texas Stars have rebounded in a big way from an embarrassing game 1 loss, taking a 2-1 series lead over the Milwaukee Admirals with a big 3-2 overtime win in from of 5,320 (on a Tuesday night!) in Austin last night.
The Stars trailed 2-0 just 34 seconds into the third period and looked to be on their way to another frustrating loss. Bolstered by a raucous crowd, Philip Larsen put the Stars on the board with just under five minutes remaining in the game. Trailing by a goal late in the third period, Travis Morin then found Brad Lukowich at the point who immediately put the puck on net. Someone, the shot made its way through the crowd and tied the game, 2-2, with just 20.8 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime.
"Morin just made a great play," said Lukowich. Lukowich shot the puck into the melee in front f the net and it found twine. "We call it a puck with eyes," said Lukowich.
Morin again made another great play, winning the game in overtime with a deflection off a Maxime Fortunus shot from the point just nine minutes into the extra frame.
The Stars get right back on the ice tonight, taking on the Admirals in Game 4 at home. Remember, Game 5 is on Friday in Austin, so if you have the ability I'd get down for some exciting playoff hockey.

Huge game tonight.
Monstrously huge.

For anyone that reads the HDH preview, don't be confused by Benn being listed as day to day.
that is NOT Jamie Benn!

Game was awesome last night!
The first 2 periods reminded me of Dallas at times, getting opportunities, but shots just deflecting wide, no one around for a rebound, being blocked just enough to not go on net, just not getting the bounces you need sometimes. They outshot Mil 11-1 in the 2nd, albeit 4 or 5 PPs, but no goals. They came out fired up in the 3rd and finally got some twine with less than 5 left. I couldn’t believe some people started leaving. It was obvious some of the crowd had bailed, but those of us that stayed were even louder the last half of the 3rd. They missed a hell of a comeback and OT win. Can’t wait to do it again tonight! And Friday for that matter.
Sadly,
I don’t recall seeing him out there, but I’m probably not the best person in the world to realize who is always on the ice unless they really stand out, especially if they decide to spend the shift on the other end of the ice. I’ll make a point to watch for #15 tonight. He may have even been a scratch last night, but as loud as it was I could barely hear them announce the scratches and starting lineups.
He's only serving a limited role on the 4th line
He’s probably not worth noticing right now lol.
The coach is being smart giving him some experience that way, without ruining what he’s built all season.

Thought that was the case.
I was thinking it would probably be next season before we get a good look at him. Dillon’s looked pretty good so far since joinging Tx.
Glennie
must have read the blog, because he got out there tonight and scored Texas’ first goal. Unfortunately, they didn’t pull the last minute heroics of last night and lost 3-2. That’s alright, get a day off, win Friday, then finish it off in Milwaukee.

Hope so too...
For the next round anyway. I already know I’ll be in Sec 103 tonight and Friday. As much as texas struggled with Houston earlier this season, I would love for Tx to be the ones to knock them out of the playoffs.
STARS playoff hockey!
Such a fun game! It was a tight defensive game, and the Milwaukee goalie was impenetrable for most of the game. The crowd really turned it up the last five minutes of desperation. Winning in OT was crazy, so if we make it past this round you guys in Dallas gotta make it down here for the next round against the Houston Aeros, that will be insane! GO STARS!!!
does anyone else really like morin?
i watched during the season when he was in dallas and i thought he played really well. he didn’t score any points but he got good chances and seemed to be solid on defense.
by the way worst e-news ever...
I like Morin,
He’s done really well down here the last two seasons and carries it to the playoffs. Obviously clutch last night deflecting the game winner from Fortunus by Smith.
