Stargazing: Stars Will Likely Ice Same Lineup Against Nashville Saturday
With each passing day of the Dallas Stars season we're finding there is less and less that needs saying. The monumental importance of tomorrow night's contest hardly requires any further exposition on our part. Waiting, as they say, is the hardest part, and that's where we find ourselves now. Waiting and waiting.
There's not much news out of practice either. The injured are still injured and the healthy are luckily still healthy, so the Stars will put the same team on the ice as they did at home on Wednesday. ESPN Dallas brings us some interesting line combinations to consider from practice, however...
Eriksson-Richards-Langenbrunner
Morrow-Ribeiro-Segal
Ott-Benn-Vincour
Petersen-Wandell-Williams (Barch)
Things change in games, of course, but this is a little different than what we had been seeing. Richards played with that Eriksson line against Anaheim but also played between Ott and Vincour, where it appears Benn could move. Benn and Richards could play on that line while Benn double shifts with Ribeiro and Morrow sometimes. In that way Richard and Benn are nearly almost always on the ice.

- At ESPN, LeBrun and Burnside debate the Western Conference playoff picture. Except, they don't talk about Dallas. In fact they said the Ducks loss last night was really big...for Calgary. [ESPN]
- SB Nation takes a look at "dirty" penalties and "cheating penalties". Steve Ott is near the top of both lists, though I do not agree with the inclusion of roughing minors in that assessment, which are part of the game are almost always given out in pairs. Nothing dirty about it. [SB Nation]
- Some Toronto media believes Brad Richards would never sign there and says Burke should go after Bryzgalov instead. We are ALL FOR THAT. [The Hockey News]
- The Canucks really don't want to see the Ducks in round one. So maybe they're rooting for Dallas? [Globe and Mail]
- Playoff death watch on Puck Daddy [Puck Daddy]
- Jonas Hiller returned last night and was promptly pulled after allowing three on nine shots. So do the Ducks try to get their #1 guy right before the playoffs or do they table that project because of how critical points are right now? We're rooting for confusion and difficulty there. [Pro Hockey Talk]
- Observe Sports Club Stats for just how critical tomorrow night's game is. +14% if they win, -12% if they lose. [SCS]
- The Blackhawks are trying to lock Corey Crawford up long term. Will the phone ring for Marty Turco at all this coming off-season? [Pro Hockey Talk]
- I'm going to let you all opine on this snippet from Jean Jacques-Taylor [DMN] I will say it's interesting what they leave outside the pay wall.

I haven't seen last ones live...
But would it be better if Richards and Goligoski would play in different PP?
Or have they tried it already?
If Richards stays, they might be great together, but right now they are trying too hard?
I wrote a fan post about this!
It’s at the very bottom of the list now, and didn’t generate nearly the amount of discussion I’d hoped for, so you should go read it and then share your opinion! Please?

Heika:
is the only person in Dallas media that can competently talk about the Stars.
You would assume after 15 years, the other guys would get with the program.

I'll be doing all I can from the stands at Bridgestone arena to cheer the Stars on to Victory!
on hiatus until further notice or the Stars clinch a playoff spot
I went to the Sommet Center almost two years ago...
… though not to watch hockey.
It’s a really cool place; I liked all the banners in the concourse, and it has a great atmosphere there.

haha
so I’m watching the NJ vs Pit game and when they went through Pittsburgh’s lineup, they said Neal keeps hitting the goal post and crossbar. I had to laugh at that. Never change Nealer. Never change.

If that was bob errey...
2nd night in a row he’s said something like that. Last night he said Neal had 1 goal in 12 games, but the way he said it it was like, come on that’s all you can do. Guess they don’t like the trade as much as the rest of the media maybe.

I imagine they'll change their tune for tonight at least
Neal was the only shooter to beat a goalie tonight vs NJ. (1-0, shootout)
He still almost hit the crossbar on his goal
2nd SO winner for him in the last week I believe

It was Errey
and he has so much love for Nieuwy I feel like a slacker.

My God I'm honestly having trouble sleeping...
If Stars don’t win tomorrow I’m going to be completely devastated.
GET IT DONE!!! GO STARS!!!
I was like that before the Ducks game.
Totally amped, nervous, and excited.
and after the game full of frustration and dismay.
Hoping for the opposite aftertaste coming outta Nashville.

I said the same thing...yesterday.
Some kind followers corrected me and said they’d be sad if I actually died over a Stars loss.
Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.

glad to see you're alive and well
after the stars didn’t pull out the win yesterday

The games tomorrow are of great importance.
If everything goes as right as possible, our playoff chances will rise to 83%.
If everything goes as wrong as possible, our playoff chances drop to 41.2%.

If the Hiller thing will make it more difficult for Anaheim, I’m happy. If my own team can’t make it, I’d at least like to see my second most hated team suffer.
