Dallas Stars' James Neal Doubtful Against Coyotes

Stay connected for news and updates

The injury train keeps rolling as now word comes from morning skate that James Neal was injured in practice this week and will most likely miss tonight's contest with some manner of the dreaded and cursed upper body injury.

He joins Jamie Benn, Toby Petersen, Krys Barch, Ray Sawada and Adam Burish on the list of injured Dallas Stars forwards and breaks up the only line that has been consistently together all season long.

Crawford told reporters this morning that Sutherby and Steve Ott could move up to that line. My hunch is that we'll see several folks rotate in and out of there, especially if the Coyotes strike first and the Stars have trouble  generating offense as they normally do against Phoenix.

Who would you put in that spot?

?????-Richards-Eriksson
Morrow-Ribeiro-Langenbrunner
Ott-Wandell-Vincour
Wathier-Gagnon-Sutherby

They'll dress seven defensemen because they have no spare forwards in Dallas at this time. So Fistric and Niskanen will split time with Skrastins and could even see the odd shift as a forward every now and then as happened in Philly.

As a team that is looking for scoring (not scoring depth, just scoring) this injury bug is really hitting them where it hurts lately.
