WOW, 3 fights in 4 seconds, a 4 goal blitz, and a blind side hit really got people talking.
I stayed up till around 3 in the morning been a UK resident, watched the game on ESPN America. Turns out it was the Bruins commentators which I was most annoyed at throughout the game. They are the most biased commentators I have ever heard, and the main guy tried to defend Paille's blind side hit, I couldn't believe my ears, and was very tempted to throw my remote at the TV.
Now, I have heard the history with the Bruins, and certainly expected a real tough game. Other than the 1st period I thought we competed quite well, stood up for ourselves despite the 3 out of 4 fights losses. What struck me that 1st period was how easy the Bruins got out of there zone, and into ours. It was so frustrating, and there transition was really well executed. However, I thought our back checking could have been better, and coverage was poor on a couple of goals. I didn’t really understand starting Raycroft, despite how well he has done this year as back up. I thought a game this highly charged called for Kari to be in net, but heyho.
I hope Sawada is ok, I thought he did ok last night until he was crushed. Fair play to the guys for making a go of the game 2nd and 3rd period, but we have to be better in the 1st. It’s been a theme this season, and if are going to hold into top stop in the Pacific we need to be better from the 1st drop of the puck.
For now, I wish all the guys a speedy recovery, and await tomorrow’s game with a great deal of anticipation as to how we are going to react to whets gone on the last few games!
