James Neal on NHL Power Play
his reaction on the trade
" it was a bit of a shock and obviously very surprising "
then he talked more about still training with Roberts in the summer, and how he was flattered about the opportunity to play with the best player in the world.
Also touched on how it was easier having nisky to travel with. Nothing too exciting, but even when he talked about how excited he was for the opportunity with the pens he sounded kinda bummed out. Knowing how close he was with Richards I don't blame him and ill also miss him. This is just the beginning of the increased media attention he will be getting. Sad to see him go, but wish him best of luck.
now time for the evolution of Benn into a superstar? I think yes. ;)

I'm still in disbelief
I miss him lots already (probably in the minority here) :( But just have to see how things go from now on.
no your not
i miss him alot
my hockey team nicknamed me neal which i took as a huge compliment and ive tried to learn that shot of his ever since i first saw it. (not his streakyness though)

Yeah, the Pens were going nuts over him and that shot on their GDT. It depresses me lots. I wonder if we can ever get him back as a Star again. Pens are sounding like they want him there for a decade already.

That seemed to be the feeling I got from thing I read on the trade
Neal really liked it in Dallas. :(
Yeah I know...
I went on the Pen’s site today and you can tell he’s kind of emotionally messed up right now still. He kept repeating the same answers basically when asked about how he felt about everything, “exciting” was used a lot but not very enthused lol. In fact I kind of feel it was very faked enthusiasm but that’s just me. I’ll be following him in Pitts. now tho. It kind of just doesn’t feel like the same team from the beginning anymore now that we have some new guys here and now that he’s gone. Nisky was ok but not gonna be missed.
Agreed. I'll still be watching and rooting for the Nealer.
If he plays well tonight it helps us anyhow — they’re playing the Sharks.
Oh yeah..
weird how they play the Sharks tonight and yet we played the Devils last night. What I would be really curious to know is how Richards reaction is to this. I know it’s done and gone and I know it’s just business but I can’t help but wonder what poor Richie is feeling like without his bff.

Neal sounded depressed but Niskers sounds like hes enjoying it

Nisky better enjoy it while he can.
He just made a bad give away in OT that led to a gold plated break away but Fleury saved his butt.
They both played alot. Neal looked pretty good and had some good chances. He was crashing the net hard on the game tieing goal with like 5 sec to go. He also played a lot in OT.
Yeah I saw that…it was rather alarming when Nisky made that mess up how many people said “Goalasky” (spelling?!) was back already. So yeah I’m a little concerned right now lol. And I know they were playing Neal a lot and trying to set him up to get a goal. Neal had quite a couple good hits too.

dang i missed that
and they thought he was a good defender.
neal looked alright i though

Yeah he went out with a purpose thats for sure. It hurt when they asked him about how it felt to possibly be with the club for years to come and he said it was exciting to feel welcomed and wanted. If that was a major ouch… Been watching him since he was with the Whalers and I was so excited the Stars got him, I was hoping he would be here for years to come but time will tell if that ever happens I suppose.

Word!
Yeah the streakiness sucks but yeah that’s just it he’s 23. Time to grow, but I guess they are concerned about time. Benn is like 21 and yeah he is really showing potential too. But power forwards are just really hard and rare to come by. I know we have other left wingers but I just don’t think their really going to compare. But I really don’t know too much so I’m sure I’ll have stones thrown at me lol.

He looks lost.

Yep I agree
Nisky seems to be happy to have a new start, don’t blame him. But Neal yeah…it hurts. Is it so wrong for a gal to cry/mourn over this still?!?! lol
Nisky flubbed a puck that gave the sharks a breakaway in ot and fleury bailed him out… the curse lives on

But think Kill Bill…

Well for some reason my reply button doesn’t work… But yeah my whole mourning/grieving process is definitely going to take a lot of time for this one. If anyone watched Robot Chicken and has seen the lovely Giraffe sketch, I would say stage 1, 2 and 4 sum up my feelings right now still lol.
haha strange
yeah he was one of my favs so itl deff take some time
i went over to the pens blog to see what they though of neal’s first game and noticed you commented as well hahah
and i havnt seen that but im intrigued now.
GET OFF NIEUWENDYK'S NUTS
Yeah I was on there tonight, decent group there, I’ll probably be going on there more often for the rest of the season unless something else happens. But heres the giraffe bit, funniest thing ever! Gotta have a little laugh to try and cheer up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_Z3lmidmrY
I know it's helping me some cope lol Step 2 always makes me laugh

lol It was step 4 for me and then now I'm stuck on #2 lol
Especially when I was at the NJ game the other night and NJ scored when the new guy was in the box. I was livid.
by EyesOfDallas on Feb 24, 2011 2:17 PM CST up reply actions

not good timing tony, not good timing
GET OFF NIEUWENDYK'S NUTS
oh I know!!!
I’m like really?! And get this, apparently what some Pens peeps were saying was that if Crosby and this other dude never got hurt the trade wouldn’t have happened cause of cap issues, so another reason I majorly dislike Crosby now..
by EyesOfDallas on Feb 24, 2011 5:05 PM CST up reply actions
yeah thats probably true
but joe really wanted gogo so he woulda got him, cuz remember joe is the one that started the trade talks not shero
or he woulda traded neal for another defenseman from another team i assume :/
