The word from Frisco this morning is that the Stars will be without Stephane Robidas and Sheldon Souray tonight.
Robidas has been suffering from a bone bruise after being hit with a puck in practice last week. It is still swollen, though improving. The Stars had hoped he would be ok for tonight but he's obviously not progressing as well as they had hoped. The will reevaluate for Thursday night.
Souray sprained an ankle in the win over the Predators and is out tonight. No word yet on whether it is the dreaded "high ankle sprain." We'll hear more on that tomorrow.
The long and short of all of this, combined with Kari Lehtonen still being out is that this team is now without the entirety of their number one pair on defense and their starting goaltender. Take away any team's entire first pair and starting goaltender and see good they are.
Richard Bachman will start in goal again tonight. He's 5-2-0 on the season with eight total appearances. This will be his eighth consecutive start.
ESPN Dallas says the pairings at morning skate were these:
Nicklas Grossman-Trevor Daley
Alex Goligoski-Philip Larsen
Mark Fistric-Adam Pardy
