Dallas Stars Ups & Downs: Week 10

The Stars have managed to play .500 hockey so far in December, going 2-2-0. This past week saw the Stars trade away Krys Barch to the Florida Panthers and a three game suspension handed down to defensemen Mark Fistric. After the jump, this week's ups and downs. Agree or disagree? Tell us in the comments.

Comments: Stopped all shots he faced in mop-up duty and then allowed only one goal in his first NHL start. Looked confident and steady in net.

Jamie BENN
4 gp, 1-0-1, -6

Comments: Finally ended his scoring drought, but hasn't been wowing on the scoresheet. Drawing tough line matchups on the road and is struggling to overcome it.

Comments: Still on IR, Burish has been skating lately. It's a step in the right direction to getting back on the ice.

Trevor DALEY
2gp, 1-1-2, -1

Comments: Returns from IR and has a multi-point game. Picking up right where he left off.

3gp, 1-1-2, +2

Comments: Dowell may have finally found some synergy with Wandell and Vincour as his linemates. Managed to find some offense and end these 3 games on the plus side, a nice change from his team worst +/- last month.

4gp, 1-2-3, +2

Comments: Third line trio of Dvorak-Fiddler-Nystrom continues to perform well beyond what one would expect from a third line.

4gp, 0-0-0, -7

Comments: Eriksson has gone 7 games without a goal while amassing a pretty severe minus in his +/-, two things very unlike the young Swede Stars fans are used to seeing. Hopefully he'll break out of this slump soon.

4gp, 0-2-2, +2

Comments: Fiddler is doing a good job setting up Dvorak and Nystrom, continuing to make this third line above average.

2gp, 0-0-0, +2

Comments: Solid defensively before getting an unfortunate three game press box pass for an apparent charging of Nino Niederreiter.

2gp, 0-0-0, -5

Comments: Came back to the lineup sooner than was originally thought. Looked a little rusty in his first game back, but that's to be expected.

4gp, 0-1-1, +1

Comments: Anytime the stay at home defensemen ends up on the scoresheet, that's like icing on the cake. Looks at home with his old partner in crime Daley back from injury.

4gp, 0-0-0, Even

Comments: Still playing solid defense, Larsen hasn't shown up on the scoresheet lately. With Daley and Goligoski back from injury, may be looking at heading back to the Texas Stars once Fistric's suspension is up.

Comments: Word is that Lehtonen's groin is healing on schedule. Is not expected back in the lineup until at least Christmas, and it's still possible he may not see a game until 2012.

Brenden MORROW
2 gp, 1-1-2, Even

Comments: Came back from being injured with a bang, scoring a goal and an assist in his first game back. Looked more like the old Morrow Stars fans were used to seeing.

4gp, 2-0-2, -1

Comments: Continued his hot November into December, scoring a goal in each of the first two games of the month.

Steve OTT
4gp, 1-1-2, +1

Comments: Embodies his catchphrase "#peskyStars" and the team mantra of hard to play against. An expert at getting under the skin of opposing players.

2gp, 0-0-0, +1

Comments: Wasn't much of a defensive liability in his two games this month, and his +/- is on the right side this week.

2gp, 0-2-2, Even

Comments: Instrumental in getting the Stars powerplay out of it's 0-for slump by firing the puck at the net. Once Goligoski, Morrow and Daley returned to the lineup, has been a healthy scratch the past two games.

1gp, 1-2-0, .85 SV%

Comments: The losses he's had have been as much on the defense in front of him as on his own play. Has had trouble with rebound control and doesn't look too confident in his game right now.

4gp, 1-3-4, +1

Comments: Found the back of the net and has scored an average of a point per game in December so far. Stars need him to take this consistency and run with it.

Stephane ROBIDAS
4gp, 0-3-3, -4

Comments: Tacking on the assists, but paired with Souray, Robidas' defensive positioning has stuggled a touch lately.

Michael RYDER
4gp, 0-1-1, -6

Comments: As Benn and Eriksson have struggled, so has Ryder. The trio has the worst +/- of any line on the Stars so far this month.

Sheldon SOURAY
4gp, 0-0-0, -2

Comments: Hasn't recorded a point in 14 games. Hadn't gone more than 2 games this season without a point previously.

4gp, 1-2-3, +1

Comments: Recorded his first goal of the season, and has seemingly found some chemistry with Dowell and Wandell on the fourth line. Producing on the scoresheet even with limited minutes each game.

4gp, 1-2-3, +2

Comments: Another one to score his first goal of the season, has scored 3 of his 4 points this season in the past 3 games.
