Alex Goligoski Likely Out 4 Weeks With Broken Thumb

Mike Heika is reporting today that Alex Goligoski will miss approximately four weeks with a broken thumb suffered in last night's loss to the Penguins. That's a bad break for the Stars. Goligoski may not have been wowing anyone offensively this year but the deeper numbers (scoring chances, CORSI, etc...) told us he was an absolute monster workhorse for the Stars where possession was concerned and the Stars didn't possess the puck enough as it was. You could see the difference last night when he was out. Philip Larsen will attempt to fill in in the mean time. Four weeks takes the Stars to mid December and means he could miss as many as 14 games. Or more.
