Forgive my ignorance of the workings of NHL contracts, but I was wondering if Avery being waived by the Rangers could in any way lead to Avery finally getting off the Dallas Stars payroll.   If I remember correctly, he's costing them somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 million, which could obviously be put to better use.  I can't imagine what other team would want him, but I'm hoping that getting claimed off waivers would negate the Stars portion of his salary.
