Well.... I don't quite know what to say.
Niskanen and Neal both moved. Meh.
The idea that Dallas wouldn't move Neal didn't sit with me, its why I asked about him being moved. Great start to the season, but.... slowed down big time.
Gogo... well defensiveness isn't his strong suit, though he is developing into a great pp catalyst. Would Montreal have sent Subban, Weber, or Wis to Dallas for both of these guys.. not likely. So... I'm ok with not having given away good offensive D . Montreal is obviously in a different situation than Dallas or Pitts but... Neal still would have been a good pick up.
Goood luck with Gogo!
Just a Habs Fan trying to figure out what the Habs might be doing in the near future.
Carbo, Turgeon, Muller, Ribeiro all former Habs, all played well for Dallas.
Its 2011, the GM in Dallas is feeling confident about their chances for this year, and making trades for more leadership. What is Dallas missing that Montreal could supply?
The Habs need to sure up their defence with a little youth, and smaller salaries. They also need a top 6 type forward.
No rumours of late, but Lapierre has been traded, we have Moen, Ryan White (Hamilton Bulldogs) and Darche (career year) all fitting the bill as role or character players. We've had some interesting scratches of late.. primarily Hamrlik. He's a solid D, good PP shot, a vet. Only down side would be price tag. The man is making 5.5 mil. That's a lot.
Just wondering if you guys think the Dallas- Montreal Connection could bring about a deal before the deadline?
