A few from over the pond

Hi all, this is my first ever post, so please be gentle!!

Here's a little about myself..

I live in Sheffield, in the UK, which is about 3hrs drive north on London. I have followed the Dallas Stars for a number of years now, largely due to the mighty MO!! He was and still is i suppose, my favorite player, and will always love what he did for the Stars.

My main interest other than the Stars and Hockey, is football (soccer) and i follow my local side, Sheffield United. I guess most of you will be like.....who? but we are a pretty big club, and have a decent following considering the bad times we have had. We average around 22000 this season, which has been a real struggle.

I only came across this site a few months ago, and massive credit to you guys. This is far better than a forum, and the info for people like me that live so far away is outstanding. Please keep up the excellent work.

Anyway, i like most have been delighted at what the Stars have done so far this season, and thought id sign and share a few thoughts.

I was so upset with last season, and didn't have much expectation this year, maybe a late run to the play offs, but never sitting top of our division, no way! I think the emphasis on the TEAM has really been a big plus, we all know what Richards, and alike can do, but the TEAM effort have been really impressive. Also, Kari, what a great piece of business, and as much as i liked Turco, Kari has been the much better of the goaltenders this season.

Great credit to GM Joe, and to MC, both are doing a great job this year, and i really hope we can get pass the trade deadline with Richards still a Star. Unless there is something to good to turn down, we should obviously keep hold of him, ever if its a risk losing him as a free agent in the summer.

I will be taking in my very 1st NHL game live, when i visit New York in late Feb, I will be catching the flyers/Rangers game. Shame the Stars were not in town the week that I'm there, but I'm really looking forward to it, and should be a good game with the Flyer's doing so well this year. I'll be sure to boo Avery, don't worry!!

Onwards and upwards, hope i haven't bored you all to tears!
