Knee jerk reaction to last night.

Stay connected for news and updates

Ok, knee jerk time.  I have read a lot today about last night’s game, it was defense, it was offense, it was the goalie, lack of discipline, lack of intensity and a few other things it could have been.  To me, (not a hockey expert, yet) this was a failed opportunity.  I would argue that last night’s game in Vancouver was the Stars biggest game this year.  They could have moved into a tie for first place, they could have jumped over Detroit in the standings and they could of beat a team that will probably have to be beat to win the Stanly Cup.  Granted, they were on the road and granted they were coming off another embarrassing loss to the Flames (7-4). But excuses aside I was personally expecting something special last night and all I got was into bed way too late.   The team that has showed up night after night all year was nowhere to be found (I think they were playing Thunder Cats with their new toy in the dressing room).  The team everyone expected this year made their appearance during the road trip not once but twice.  The gritty get down on the ice and block all shots at all costs team did not show up.  It is always easy to blame the goalie when you give up 7 goals but I refuse to put all the blame on him.  Did Kari stink last night? Yes he did. Will there be another night like last night?  Hopefully not, but probably so.  The season is long, guys get hurt, and guys get sick who knows what the next game will bring but hopefully whatever it brings it comes with a gritty hard fought win.  Go Stars!
