I'm for this. Couldnt hurt. He's a big right hand shot, and if Jere retires then this could be a quick fix for now, and just what if he regains his form? He has ALL the potential in the world, and under marc crawfords system he could flourish. On the flipside, this is another forward in an already crowded locker room. Thoughts?

Ranger fan here...

I think Cheechoo might work if he gets put together with a big playmaker like Richards or Ribeiro, he had a 56 goal season playing with Joe Thornton in 2005-2006 but I would not get my hopes up for him to produce anything like those numbers. I hope he makes an impression and gets a roster spot, it is a strange thing to see a Rocket Richard winner who is only 30 years old looking as if he might be done with hockey.

In Hank we trust.

I think Cheecho's a good gamble

I really don’t kinow what happened to Cheecho these past few years. I think if he can get some ice time with Richards or Ribeiro, as well as some PP time, I think he can put in 20 or so. I like the thought of him getting a fresh start, on his terms, with the Stars. A decent gamble for Niewy.

Forward for forward, the Stars really do match up okay with most of the League, it will be our defense that I think will kill us this year. Robidas, God love him, is our best D-Man and he would probably be 5th or 6th D-Man on most of the Cup contenders…Grossman and Fistric have the potential to be studs, we’ll just have to see if they step up to the plate this year. And then there’s Kari, who we can (and probably will) have entire discussion threads on this year…
