Is depressing

He is now in a position to basically decide if Chicago can really compete for a second cup.

I’m looking foward to a fresh start for Marty and for the Stars with Kari. Now, about the important stuff- that mask is awesome. Great work by the folks at daveart.com who also designed Kari Lehtonen’s mask. The gargoyles have really improved in the last couple of years, but these ones look pi$$3d off. It’s cool how he has different designs for home and away.

Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of random icons that are not related to the team of the ‘tender – like Peter Budaj’s Ned Flanders – but it’s hard to argue against Clint Eastwood on Kari’s mask. Turco’s Gargoyles, Eddie’s Eagles and Cujo’s dog get a hall pass to move from team to team, but Kiprusoff needs to stay away from using this guy…

Raycroft’s mask should be pretty cool as well, given some of the recent ideas.

If you think Turco’s masks are depressing, wait until you see Modano’s jersey coming out of the gate at the corner of the ice. ;-)
