The Devils You Do Not Know (Yet...)
On Tuesday we here at DBD will have a feature in which we chat with John Fischer (whom if you recall we've also had as a guest on Defending Big D Live) and the fine people over at In Lou We Trust to ask them where they are going for summer vacation .. what is it like to have an Oompa-Loompa for a GM .. five questions related to the New Jersey Devils and what we can expect to see from the Devils this coming season.
Long time followers of this blog may recall we did something like this last year with PensBurgh when we asked them questions and they asked us some questions right back. In hindsight, I meant well when I said couldn't see the Stars missing the playoffs for a second time in a row.
Anyhoo, that brings me to all of you fine DBD readers... We'd like you all to come up with a question or two that we can take to John and Co. Not because we're lazy (well ok, maybe partly that..) but because this is a chance to get to know a team that we don't know much of other than that they ripped our hearts out in 2000 and somehow convinced Doug Armstrrong that Randy McKay was worth trading for.
So fire away in the comments section and we'll hopefully be able to take one or two of the best questions and use 'em!

I'd ask for reparations from the Nieuwy/Lags for Arnott/McKay deal
Money would be nice or a defenseman.
Proud fan of the #1 college hockey team in the nation - Miami University Redhawks - The Brotherhood. RIP Brendan Burke.
With the uncertainty regarding the salary cap in years to come...
are Devils fans comfortable making a huge commitment to Kovalchuk if it means a greater possibility of losing some of their homegrown core players (specifically Parise) in the future?
Assuming Yan Danis isn't the future and Marty's retirement is on the radar
Where do the devils go in terms of future goaltending? Will they draft a top tier net minder closer to Brodeur’s retirement to get ready, will they go the Free Agency or trade route, or even more intriguing, is there a shrouded figure nobody knows about within the Devils system who they see as the guy for the future when the Martin Brodeur era comes to a close?
Do you feel bad that your GM and player might cause another lockout?
Because if that happens because of Kovalchuk, I’ll be very resentful toward the Devils.
That might be too harsh though.
Here's to all us girls who love hockey...and the men who play it.

Yeah I think blaming a lockout on just them would be a bit much.. But who knows, that whole Kovalchuk thing may have been the last straw..
ILWT actually had a great article about how this may have been a ploy by GM Lou to ruin the whole “lifetime contract” issue to begin with and I think it’s required reading.. http://www.inlouwetrust.com/2010/8/12/1619241/the-unintentional-genius-of-lou
