Why not Kaberle?

Brian Burke is again Shopping Kaberle as traid bait for a forward. The Deadline for a trade without kaberle's approval is Sunday. The rumors persist that Dallas is willing to trade Ribiero possibly for a puck moving Defenseman. Kaberle's salary is $4.25M vs the $6+M that Ribiero makes. Throw in a prospect in the deal and Toronto gets two forwards, we get a badly needed top line D and shed some salary at the same time. I think, though that dallas would want some assurances that an extention owuld be in the deal. We definitely don't need a one year deal with Kaberle only to see him walk via free agency. There isn't much point because Dallas isn't ready to make a playoff run much less contend for a cup. I don't think Kaberle would re-sign with a new team unless he was traded to a contender.
