Red Wing Fans Discuss Modano Possibility
For some reason the Red Wing contingent over at Wingin it in "Motown" (oh, the unintentional puns...) isn't disgusted and appalled at the idea of having a Dallas Star on their roster.
I don't get it.
But if you like, you can click on over there and read their discussion of the cap situation and the possibility of Mike signing with Detroit. If you do decide to comment, please represent DBD civilly and be respectful.
The good news is that they appear to have very little room once their RFA situation shakes out. The bad news is that if Mike goes there, you have to be happy for him if he is happy.

Mike knows how much
Stars fans hate the red wings! I can’t support him there anywhere but there. I want mike to go out on top not keep playing and turn into a Chris Chelios type situation. I have watched mike from day one. I can never support the Red Wings

I just can't comprehend what Modano wants.
He didn’t like the role he had on the Stars. He wants to play for a “contender.” Does he really think there’s any team in the league that would take him as a top six forward, let alone a contender?
I wouldn’t have a problem if Mo went to Detroit. Then again, I’m also a weirdo who likes the Wings. But is it really so wrong to let Mike go back to his hometown?
My only fear about that plan is that Mo would turn into a Red Wing. You know, a soulless automatron.
Here's to all us girls who love hockey...and the men who play it.

Meh, I've already seen Hatcher and Hull go from the Stars to the Wings.
I’d rather see a repeat of that than the Sharks or another Pacific rival.
Except then I'd have to root for the red wings to win the Cup.
That’s…that’s just asking too much.
