Texas Stars Take 2-0 Calder Cup Finals Stranglehold With 4-3 Game 2 Win
It looks like we had a pretty active gameday thread over here at DBD for this game and rightfully so! Texas never trailed in the game and opened the scoring for the first time since Game 4 of the West Division Finals against Chicago (two series ago).
The Stars and Bears were on a goal scoring seesaw, with Hershey having an answer for every Texas tally. The Stars got goals from Aaron Gagnon, Garrett Stafford, Mathieu Beaudoin, and the game-winner from Travis Morin. With the game poised to go to overtime, Travis Morin scored on a bad angle shot that ticked off the glove of Michal Neuvirth and rainbowed into the net with 46 seconds to go in the game.
Stars goalie Matt Climie had 25 saves on 28 Bears shots. Full recap on Hundred Degree Hockey. Game 3 is Monday night in Cedar Park with Game 4 on Wednesday and a possible Game 5 on Friday. For the record, the Bears have never won in the entire state of Texas, including games against the San Antonio Rampage and Houston Aeros.

Don't forget...
…the Texas Stars are just a bunch of role players, who win solely because of Jamie Benn, our “NHL player”. Clearly, there’s a long rough road ahead for the Stars.
Seriously, though, things are going well so far. People love to bash us when we’re doing poorly, and pretend we don’t exist when things are going well. You never hear anything in the media about the Stars unless things are going drastically wrong. Here’s another chance for us, and for southern hockey in general, to strike back. Go Stars.
