Brent Krahn injured in Game 6
The Stars will play their first ever Game 7 on Tuesday night in Chicago. With a chance to close out the series this afternoon, Texas came out flat and played a penalty-filled and offensively lethargic game. Chicago scored on the power play in the first period and are now 8/23 on the power play in the series. Texas surrendered another in the third to bring the final score to 2-0.
Texas had a shot at tying it up late in the first period but the goal by Jamie Benn was waved off by referee David Banfield because he lost sight of the puck. The goal was clearly a good one, but Banfield just had a bad vantage point for it.
The big story in the game was the injury to Brent Krahn. Krahn was run by Spencer Machacek and originally was thought to have a hand injury. Krahn was immediately removed from the game and was taken to the local hospital for a concussion. Machacek's impact slammed Krahn's head into the goalpost. If Krahn is unable to return for Tuesday's Game 7, there is no indication who Matt Climie's backup would be as Richard Bachman is also injured.
