Texas suffered its first home playoff loss ever tonight in Cedar Park. Perttu Lindgren opened the scoring for the Stars, who were 5-0 when scoring the first goal in the postseason, but penalties were the ultimate downfall of Texas tonight. The Stars gave the Chicago Wolves (Atlanta Thrashers) 7 power play opportunities. Chicago scored on three and took a 2-1 series lead in the West Division final best of seven series.
Texas collected goals from Perttu Lindgren (2) and Aaron Gagnon in the loss. Francis Wathier had two assists. Brent Krahn stopped 18 of 22 shots through 2 periods and was replaced by Matt Climie for the 3rd period. Climie stopped 5 of 6 shots.
"You can kill the ones where a guy saves a goal or puts someone through the endwall, but when you flip two pucks over the glass and take a cross-check," said Coach Gulutzan regarding the penalties, "those hurt you. I think it took away our energy."
Full recap on Hundred Degree Hockey. Coach Marc Crawford was in the house this evening for the game and sat in a box with other Dallas Stars staff. AHL Commissioner Dave Andrews was also in attendance. Full interview with Andrews will be coming on Thursday on Hundred Degree Hockey.
