Confirmed: Texas Stars working on deal to buy Iowa Chops franchise

A story out of the Des Moines Register this morning confirms our suspicions that the Texas Stars are working on a deal to purchase the now defunct Iowa Chops franchise. The franchise purchase would solidify the 2010-11 season for the Stars in Austin. Currently, it sounds like the deal is held up on debt settlements with Polk County. Documents obtained by the Register from Polk County indicate that the sale would be for $3.75 million. More details in the link above.
