GO STARS!

I haven’t lost faith yet! Hope our defense looks better than it did over the past two games. Daley is killing me

crawford

any chance he’s on the hot seat anytime soon?

by dingersbu on Mar 6, 2010 11:38 AM CST reply actions

I wouldn't hold your breath on that one....

They’re obviously not scoring, even though his system is supposed to be high-offense (and let’s see what we do against a goalie with a GAA of 2.70), but some people think that’s not the coach’s fault. I remember back earlier in the season, people were saying it would take about 20 games in before the team started feeling comfortable in his system. We’re now 64 games in. I don’t know if he lost the room, or he never had the room, but something’s going on and it’s not all the players.

by TracyJean on Mar 6, 2010 11:44 AM CST up reply actions

Agreed. I don't think we are going to see any changes in coaching anytime soon.

But also, agree that we should have seen huge improvement by now and be full into the new system if it was being accepted by the team.
Sigh.

For the last three years..

I didn’t think it even mattered 2K made a hockey game… EA has been light years ahead of them in terms of quality.

On the bright side, MLB2K10 is actually more than a passable baseball game for once. Still would have liked to see what EA could have done with their MVP series.

It's not bad...

Better than anything they’ve done the last five years.

Pitcher / Batter battles are much more intense… It just feels like an actual game in that respect.

Fielding is still a little bit of an issue.. there is still some clipping issues… Overall though a good baseball game.

And yes .Karma … MLB The Show is better game if you have a PS3. But for 360 users 2k10 is pretty good this year.

Madden has been ok...

Gamers do this whole “innovating” thing as if they need to see it every year… There really is nothing wrong with the core game play of Madden, so why rework it? They added gang tackling which I think makes things much more realistic.. little tweeks like that every year are fine with me.

You have to make an adjustment to that Niskanen-Skrastins pair right?

I was wrong to blame Niskanen for that play, but with how horrible Skrastins has been since the break, Niskanen needs someone playing better with him.

Woywitka-Niskanen
Daley-Skrastins?

I don't know what you do with Skrastins at this point..

Nisky to be really effective needs to play with a partner who can play the puck well and be solid in his own end. Normally that’s Skrastins, but now that he seems to be at ‘guh’ level, I don’t know who you play with Nisky to make him as effective as possible.

Life was so much easier when they had Zubov and he could play with Niskanen.

If you were going to make a change, I would put Nisky with Woywitka.

He makes little mistakes, and is a smooth puckhandler. Plus, maybe playing with Nisky could help him get his offensive game going a bit.

I was cheering that guy.

Stars were a little too casual on that play… all of them.

Daley gets more goals deflected into his own net than anyone ever should.

Maybe we should put him in front of the other team’s net on the powerplay.

Very good fight!

That may be the best we’ve seen involving a Star all season.

I hope I come back to a lovely surprise win by the Stars!

Depressing.

And a full minute of 5 on 3 that starts at center ice is practically useless for a team that will not win the faceoff.

Okay, I'm going to be the first one to say this:

If we lose this game and don’t give up any more goals, I’m okay with it. Fought tough, took them to the brink, and eventually got outmatched by a significantly better team. No shame in that.

Of course, anything looks good after Thursday night, but even this has been impressive.

Mentally soft group

And you can go back to last year’s Avery fiasco to see proof of that, the way they pouted, etc.

All this game did is reinforce Hull Fan’s belief that Morrow needs to be traded for defensive help. Or somebody else from the core.

by Brandon Bibb on Mar 6, 2010 2:39 PM CST up reply actions

See I'm converting people

I’ve called them mental midgets for two years now. My first two targets were Modano and Turco. But since both are really on their way out Morrow has stolen their spot light. I can only hope Niewendyk grows as tired of watching this as I have.

To add another analogy:

Today was like a freaking firecracker. It burns slowly at first, explodes, and then fizzles out at the end.
