Defending Big D's Stars Watch Party Tomorrow!

Next Game

Where: Frankie's Sport Bar & Grill

Tuesday, Mar 23, 2010, 6:30 PM CST

2516 South Stemmons Freeway
Lewisville, TX 75067

This is it folks. This is happening tomorrow evening! I would really really like to hear from people if they're planning on coming. I'll be there a little before 6:30 and I'll be wearing a Brenden Morrow jersey. Don't be shy.

EVERYONE is welcome, whether you're a regular commenter and contributor, or just a Dallas Stars fan who happened upon our site for the first time today. We want to have as many people as we can, all we need is good head count ahead of time of who will be attending.

So if you are able and planning to attend, please let us know with a semi-firm RSVP in the comments. We'd rather you not RSVP if you are just 10% certain you'll make it, but just let us know if there is a good chance you'll be there. This way we can plan ahead of time.

There will be $2.50 drafts all night, as well as free pizza for the party. So not only are you enjoying the game with fellow DBD and Stars fans, but you're getting a kick-ass deal out of it as well

Minors are also welcome, so don't worry if you're under 21 and want to attend.

RSVP in the comments, and we hope to see you there!

And remember, Brandon Worley will be in attendance. (I think he's signing autographs ;) )

Awesome

I’ll mark my calendar and do my best to be there. It’d be great to meet some of you guys that I’ve known from the blogosphere for a while!

We need a lot of folks

So we can bully the mavericks game off of whatever big TV they have there…

I may have to go to this place to scout it out a little beforehand.

I was thinking the same thing. I thought we would try to get over there some time this weekend to check things out.

Dave, Grace and I plan on being there. BE PREPARED TO BE HUGGED! Yes, I am a hugger. Is anyone really surprised?

Also, right now the Stars have listed a 2 pm practice on this Friday, so I’m hoping to take off Friday afternoon and see if we can’t catch that. Let me know if anyone is going to be there. Would love to say “hey”.

Don't worry.

We’ve been assured the Stars game will be on.

They have a ton of TVs. And duck quesadillas.

I’m sure the Stars game will be on one of them.

Put me down, plus one.

by Sugaa on Feb 22, 2010 1:06 PM CST up reply actions

Well I know the game will be on

I’m saying I want to make sure it has top billing that night.

And the Mavs game in HD will likely take precedence over the Stars road game (not in HD) in bars across DFW.

I wish I could go.

Miami Hockey misses Brendan Burke. RIP sweetie - gone too soon.

I wish you could too. :(

We'll make a carboard cutout

And write “Happy Girl” on it.

Then Brandon will buy it some drinks.

Aw. Isn't that sweet, HG?

LOL

Just make sure she’s younger than me, thinner than me, cuter than me and is wearing a #25 Nieuwendyk jersey.

Me too

I am starting to think this is going to be like any of the LSB or Newberg events…

every time on of those comes up it either means I have class, have a test the next day, or some other absolute weird reason that there is no way in hell I could make it.

As soon as you have the watching party in....

Memphis, I’ll be there! Or if you organize one around thanksgiving week or the week of Christmas, I can make it then too. Stupid work and being responsible.

man i wish i could be there!

oh well, im sure when you move back to dallas we’ll have some more

Exactly.

Next season, depending on how things go, we’ll try to do it a few times instead of just once.

by Brad Gardner on Feb 22, 2010 3:17 PM CST up reply actions

not to be a downer here

but i am going to voice my displeasure for this shindig being in lewisville. it’s just too far away from me (im in dallas, old east dallas to be exact), plus im one of those people who avoids the ‘burbs as much as possible, knowing there’s probably one day (fam, kids, the works) where that’ll be where i am.

until then, may i suggest having another Stars watch party somewhere in Dallas? Hully and Mo’s could be cool and im sure they could use our business. even frankies on McKinney would be fun.

nonetheless, have fun everyone!

by ludwig's mullet on Feb 22, 2010 3:56 PM CST reply actions

That's nothing. I'm coming up from Cedar Hill for this.

Although Hully and Mo’s would be cool. Went there for the first time before the Phoenix game a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed the food. Between that and the shutout, it was a good day all around.

I'm, unfortunately, going to have to bow out.

My great-grandfather died and I’ll be in Illinois for the funeral. My husband, however, may still attend.
