Olympic Men's Hockey: An Exciting Sunday For Hockey Fans Everywhere
First of all, I'd like apologize for the lack of posts lately. We've been using the Olympic break ourselves to recharge and take some time away from the non-stop writing and blogging, as we gear up for a hopeful playoff run. This next week will be significantly busier, however, as we start looking ahead to the trade deadline and breaking down who might stay and might go.
We'll also have news on our meetup and watching party on March 23rd, which is going to be held at Frankie's in Lewisville.
As for today, I'll be hard at work covering Olympic hockey today for SBNation.com. In case you hadn't heard, there are three HUGE games today in Men's hockey starting at 2:00 p.m. CST.
2:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. - Czech Republic vs. Russia - A resurgent Jaromir Jagr leads his medal hopeful team against Alex Ovechkin and the Russians. Should be an epic battle.
6:40 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. - USA vs. Canada - Can the young American team pull of the gigantic upset against Canada? The good news is that a loss isn't completely devastating, as they are already a point ahead of Canada thanks to their two regulation wins.
11:00 p.m.-1:30 a.m. - Finland vs. Sweden - Jere Lehtinen takes on Loui Eriksson as Sweden and Finland fight for the top spot in Group C. Both teams have two wins, and Finland has allowed just one goal total in two games.
We'll have links to our SB Nation game threads here shortly.

I love this note Heika has:
“The reason that Canada-USA is not on NBC is because it conflicts with the finals of Ice Dancing, and Ice Dancing is a much bigger draw.”
Grrrrr…..
Thank you America. I love you, but you’re stupid.
I'm intentionally not aiming this remark in the direction of the likes of Schtimpy, L2L, HG, BRR, etc.
They have good sense. They’re female hockey fans.
It’s the rest of your gender who ought to take the blame for this ridiculous programming decision.

I'm more upset about how putrid the Hockey coverage has been.
Not being able to watch multiple games until the start of the 2nd period due to Curling? Going to break without any lead out? Coming back from commercial in the middle of the play? Mike Emerick deserves better.
"Hey... Goldberg! I bet if that puck was a cheeseburger, you'd stop it!
Did you know that more women watch the Olympics than men in general?
I was surprised by that. Yes, the male Olympian athletes are fabulous and by and large easy on the eyes but have you seen this month’s SI Swimsuit issue? :P

I'm not too crazy about ice dancing...
It’s nice to watch for a little while, then I just get bored with it. Really, I don’t like those artsy, judged events. Too much controversy and they all blur together after awhile.
I just don’t think that NBC gets it. Hockey is so much more than a matter of life and death and they don’t understand that at all…
Here's to all us girls who love hockey...and the men who play it.

Ice dancing is an Olympic sport, but dancing isn't?
Can someone explain that to me?
I just don’t like the events that are subjectively graded. Everyone cheats, and everyone knows it. And I can’t stand listening to the commentary:
Dude skating slips microscopically.
Commentator A: gasp
Commentator B: Oh wow, that’s an automatic deduction.
Commentator A: I know, how is he possibly going to be able to recover from this?
Sugaa: You’re kidding me, right?
Sugaa’s Husband: What would Brian Boitano do?
And why, in this modern day and age, can people not watch whatever sport they want whenever they want to watch it? I can watch reruns of CSI at 3 AM on demand, why not speed skating or biathalon?
AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!
Coming again, to save the mother fucking day yeah.
This Czech-Russia game is a really good game.
"Hey... Goldberg! I bet if that puck was a cheeseburger, you'd stop it!
wait, wait, wait
so not only am i not watching russia-czech republic because of skiing, are you seriously telling me i will not be able to watch usa-canada because of ice dancing?
you’re kidding, right? RIGHT?!?!!?!?!?
Russia-Czech is on NBC
USA-Canada is on MSNBC
