Loui Eriksson of the Dallas Stars is on pace for a career year. His 9 goals and 8 assists in 13 games (when the ballot came out) had him among league leaders and his back to back two goal games last week had us convinced he would be on the All-Star ballot. He wasn't.
So let's do something about it. Brenden Morrow, Brad Richards and Stephane Robidas are on the ballot and you can and should vote for them early and often, but writing in Loui Eriksson is a snap with the NHL's voting format on nhl.com. After all, doesn't his +11 deserve some representation here? I don't think Brenden Morrow would tell anyone to their face that he's having a better year than Loui Eriksson is (nor Stephane Robidas) so why isn't he on the ballot?
Why not just have fans write-in every vote for that matter? If people are going to choose All-Stars, shouldn't they be knowledgeable enough to come up with the names themselves? (It helps you spell it when you start typing it in) Or is that too much to ask? That is a topic for another year, perhaps. Somehow Mark Streit and Antti Niemi made the ballot.
In the mean time you can vote up to 30 times a day (because you have nothing better to do, right?) so get after it. Visit vote.nhl.com and get to it. You need a nhl.com user name and password but it's relatively painless.
