The Dallas Morning News reports that Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow missed practice on Monday with an ailing groin injury that he suffered prior to playing the Anaheim Ducks on Friday. He played anyway that night (almost 20 minutes) but now is uncertain of his status for Tuesday night's rematch.
``I'll see how I feel tomorrow, but I feel pretty good right now,'' Morrow said.
Stars coach Marc Crawford said: ``He's gotten treatment the last three days and has gotten progressively better. The plan is for him to skate in the morning and for us to see how he is and where he is at.''
Morrow tweaked his groin in practice on October 1st at the end of Stars pre-season play but was able to get himself ready for the season opening road trip a week later. It's unclear at this time if this is the exact same thing as before, so we'll keep an eye on it. This might be an occurring thing throughout the season if so.
The schedule has been health-friendly this point with breaks of three and four days peppered throughout the schedule, but things are about to really pick up with games every other night for months on end until the All-Star break at the end of January. If the occasional time off was helping Brenden, he could soon miss it.
The Stars have been very fortunate on the health front with no one missing any time since Jamie Benn's concussion like syndromes the first two weeks of the season.
Reports from practice today have Segal practicing with Ott and Benn, a combination that was thrown together seemingly during the game on Friday in-game. Tom Wandell would play with Petersen and Sutherby on the fourth line if that combo holds.
