Dallas Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas has received an automatic one game suspension, says the Dallas Morning News, for his third period boarding and subsequent game misconduct penalty following a hit on Anaheim Duck Matt Beleskey.
The suspension is automatic because Robidas received his second misconduct penalty in his last 41 games under the same "category." It happens without review from the league. So the Stars will face a possible three game HOME losing streak when they meet the Kings on Thursday without their (far and away) best defenseman on the ice.
This is the hit that makes up the first half of this suspension, last March on Ryan Clowe:
Video is not yet available for what Robidas did last night against the Ducks.
How do you adjust your D pairs against the Kings with Woywitka and Fistric in? Or is this the first occasion to call up Larsen or Blindenbacher? (Waiver rule refresher coming in the morning on that. It's too late...)
