Yesterday, it appeared that Liverpool supporters were finally rid of Tom Hicks and George Gillett when the High Court in London ruled for RBS and NESV, citing that Hicks and Gillett violated a refinance agreement when they tried to have two members from the Liverpool FC Board of Directors removed.
Well, yesterday afteroon, Hicks got an injunction from a Texas State Court. At that time, I wondered just what kind of jurisdiction a Texas State court could possibly have in England.
It turns out, they don't. At least in this case.
Mr. Justice Christopher Floyd granted an anti-suit injunction stating that the Liverpool sale had, "nothing to do with Texas."
There's reports indicating a hearing in that same Dallas courtroom that Hicks and GIllett obtained their injunction in yesterday is set to begin at 1:00 pm CDT, but I have not been able to independently confirm on any UK or North Texas based media outlet.
