Tom Wandell Out for Year

According to TheTicket and Mike Heika.

The knee he injured in Vancouver will require ACL surgery that will end his season.

It is the second time he has blown an ACL, and it is in the other knee (I'm not sure which is which), so there is some thought that he can recover fully from this before next season.

It's a tough break for the rookie who saw spot duty last year and scored the game winner against Detroit last year before being sent back to play in the SEL. This year, he had been counted upon by Marc Crawford to play in crucial late game situations, so it shows just how high the Stars had been on him this season.

Ahhh!

Poor Tom, hopefully he comes back full speed. His skating was his greatest asset and it would be a shame if the knee slowed him down.

hopefully it wont affect his speed too much

get better soon tommy

Sigh...

That ruined my day. Poor Gilbert.

Hopefully he has a better recovery that Morrow has. This really sucks…

This hurts.

Because I hate imagining how this is going to affect his development. He might recover nicely, but it’s still a HUGE setback. And you never really know with knee injuries…

#^%*!!!

This… Really sucks. At least we get Morrow and Lehts back wednesday. Hopefully morrow will be back for the rest of the season, and we can probably squeeze one game out of Lehts before he gets injured again.

There is a time and a place for squeezing.*

Healthy Lehts is not that time/place.

*Credit/apologies to HG :)

Unfortunately, Wandell knows how to work thorough a knee injury, so I just hope for the best, speediest recovery for him.

our turn for the injury bug

first ribeiro, now wandell. both really, really hurt. swede’s are pretty slow at developing in the nhl, so this could really the sting the stars for another season. nothing to do but wait and see how he recovers from this.

Still angry

Man, at the time I wanted to grab a stick and crack it over the head of the guy running the ’Nuck’lehead door.
Now I want to grab a baseball bat or hatchet.
I love Neal and Benn, but people had talked about them a lot. Wandell, at least for me, came from out of nowhere and just played that quietly competent game.
I figure if he isn’t able to recover I’ll just go on a hunting trip to BC and scour the Island for a retard who doesn’t know how to operate hinges faster than glacial speed.
We miss you Tommy!
