That being said, this article is just repeating what we already know. Turco's future is in doubt, that's no surprise.

Wondering when Turco’s gone next season, what direction is this team in? Still rebuilding, or trying to be a championship contender next season. And for how long will Nieu have this rebuilding era?

I hope that Hicks has given Joe a 5 year time frame, which is what is really needed for any new GM/coach to get things really going. There are a bunch of good young goalies that are out there, if they choose not to go with Clime or Krahn.

maybe time for turco to move on….they should look at one of the montreal goalies over the summer. Kari lehtonen is no solution

First post!
I may be in the minority (new to the site, don’t know) but I think the problem is not so much Turco as it is the quality of the defense in front of him. I’m sorry – I’m originally a Minnesota North Stars fan – and I’m used to my checking line being one Basil McRae and one Shane Churla, backed up by Mark Tinordi.
That being said, I do like some of the moves the franchise has made of late… I think we all could agree the roster is very strong up the middle; keep giving Mo the days off, he’s really responded.
I like Neal, Benn, Morrow and Ott a lot and think the club should try to keep those guys. However if you asked me about the defense, I just don’t see the same quality that the club had back in the 99-00 years. No Hatcher, Zubov, or Matvichuk. In fact, I think Robidas might be the equal of a Sydor in his prime, and Sydor was the 4th defenseman on those teams. I’m in the camp of those who like a hard-hitting, shot-blocking defense, and I don’t see that anymore. The Wild totally dominated the shots and it seemed they were in our zone all game last week.
Finally, I’m just not a fan of the new coach. I think the club should have gone for a younger, hungrier coach instead of a castoff like Crawford. But I digress. Keep Turco and get some better defensemen.
