Contract Extension For Steve Ott?

Darren Millard of Sportsnet has reported via Twitter that Joe Nieuwendyk "has confirmed" that the Stars are working on an extension for Steve Ott. Nothing out of any Dallas media sources, but we'll update if we hear anything from Mike Heika or Mark Stepneski.

Ott is one of the few players on the team who has the spirit and drive they need right now. Trade him and you will have ripped what is left of the team’s heart out. We need Otter now even more than ever. I would like to see him step up even further and carry the team on his back like he did last year when Morrow was out, since Morrow doesn’t seem to be up to it at the moment.
