Well, that one was better.
The Stars played a much stronger game this time around, utilizing advantageous offense and strong penalty killing in the final minutes of the game to beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-2. Loui Eriksson was the player of the game with two goals and and assist, with James Neal and Brad Richards each picking up two points as well. Have we mentioned that line is going to be incredible this season?
Alex Auld was great in his first full game for the Stars, stopping 32 of 34 shots, most of the spectacular variety. Marty Turco has some competition in net, and that's a great thing for both him and the Dallas Stars.
It's still a bit troubling to see the team get grossly outshot again this game (34-16), but they were solid in net and made some big plays in the final minutes to preserve the win. Overall a much, much better effort than the previous two nights.
Brad will have his breakdown of the game up tomorrow.
