Notes on Commenting

What makes SportsBlog Nation so great is that this is the perfect forum for the readers to give their input and not just read what I write. On the right hand side of the website there is a section where you can choose to write your FanPosts and FanShots. Feel free to post anything you feel worthy of discussion: I can't think of every single topic that needs to be covered and sometimes you guys can approach something from a completely new viewpoint. For a great example of how these are utilized check out Lone Star Ball and Blogging The Boys.

Feel free to email me with any questions you might have at defendingbigd@gmail.com.

Shout out from Lil' F

Love this blog’s devotion, tone, and perspective on all things Stars. I live in Frisco, so I’m about 10 minutes from the practice center and go there quite a bit during the season. But handshakes and autographs don’t get information! That’s what I come here for.
Been following DBD since about April, and I plan on continuing through what should be a great 09-10 season!

I just want to chime in and welcome everyone to DBD as well! Feedback and interaction is always welcome from our readers!

And as an addendum

While every fan post will get posted under the Fanshots column on the right, a few of them have the ability to get promoted to the front page by Brandon, Art, and myself.

While we all have our own opinions, we’re enough of critical thinkers to always be open minded about takes that others may have to challenger our points. So if you disagree with us, put up a comment or a fan shot and tell us why.

Rember, reasonable people can disagree.

Love the site!

I am at the site several times a week and don’t post much, butthe info you guys give out is great. Can’t stop thinking about JULY 1st!!! Come one Joe make up for firing Tipps, get us a blue line bruiser.

About July 1

With Hicks indicating the Stars won’t spend to the cap this off season, I doubt you’ll see the Stars make any headlines on July 1st.

With the Jonas Gustavsson decision day nigh upon us, you might as well consider today July 1st.

Nieuwendyk has said (consult this morning’s Stargazing post) that the Stars will likely not be in on anything July 1st.

Stars Fan Currently Deployed

Hey all,

My name is Joel and I have been a die-hard Stars Fan since ’97.

I am currently deployed to Iraq and I check this page, multiple times, daily.

I love the energy and the insights that are posted here.

Keep up the great work!

Joel

Joel thank you for following and more importantly thank you for the work you’re doing in Iraq.

Take care, stay safe and I’m sure all of us hope you get to go home very soon.

Thanks...

For the great draft coverage. I was out all day so I was hopping on my buddy’s iPhone all evening on Friday and Defending Big D was minutes ahead of the Stars official twitter. That kind of coverage convinced me to go ahead and create an account on here.

Keep it up! I look forward to more of the same in the future.

I'm here too

though I mainly post at HF boards and TSF. I’ve been known to share my strident sports opinion in a few other places.

I did want to say thanks for going to the draft. I appreciated the insight about what goes on there and the quotes from both players. Good stuff Brandon. Well done.

Though I have been a Stars fan for years, I only recently found this excellent site that appears to be a great place for real Stars fans. I really appreciate all the fine work done covering the draft and look forward to future Stars coverage.

Here since the beginning!

Hey Brandon and company, I’ve been following you from the beginning and really appreciate everything y’all do here! Love the upbeat attitude of the writting and commenting. Been reading all things related to the Stars for a couple years now and this has been a fabulous addition.
I was busy moving offices this weekend so haven’t had much time to read about the Draft. Can’t wait to get caught.
