2009 NHL Draft: Dallas Stars select C Reilly Smith in the 5th round

Team: St. Michaels (OHL)
Position: Center
Ht/Weight: 6-0, 175
Shoots: Left
DOB: April 1, 1991

Very skilled center who really improved the second half of this season at St. Michaels (OHL), who has a knack for putting the puck in the net and making some great passes. Had a great playoff run (15 points in six games), who has great skating ability and really sees the ice well.

Has issues away from the puck and tends to have little impact if he's not scoring. Has a reputation as a purely one-dimensional player.

From the Red Line Report:

Started the season slowly, but came on like gangbusters in the second half and was tremendous in the Buzzers' short playoff stretch. Has excellent puck skills and thinks the game very well offensively - instinctive and aware of game situations.
