Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2009 Stanley Cup Champions
What an incredible game that was, one that lived up to every single bit of hype generated over the past few days. The Detroit Red Wings gave it their best shot in the final six minutes, but Pittsburgh played a smart, intense game for 60 full minutes and deserved this win.
Marc-Andre Fleury had the game of his life, and made the biggest saves of his career in the final four seconds of the game. Awesome game.
Evgeni Malkin wins the Conn Smythe trophy as the playoffs MVP. Sidney Crosby becomes the youngest captain to ever win the Stanley Cup, and I can only imagine what it must have felt like to have to sit on the bench for most of the third period. He wanted to be out there, but couldn't. These playoffs proved that Crosby is the definitive leader of the Penguins.
If you feel like partying with the winners, head on over to Pensburgh and give them an internet chest bump.
Finally, congratulations to Philippe Boucher and Bill Guerin. Great job guys.

Stanley Cup
It will be great to have the Sidney and Stanley Cup back in the Maritimes. Perhaps Brad can bring it back next year as he did several years ago PEI. Were proud of those Maritime Hockey Boys!

Love for Boucher
It was great to see Philippe get to raise that cup and then later on the CBC feed talk about how tough it was to leave a place he enjoyed in Dallas but how he liked the situation he was coming into with the Penguins. Also had some kind thoughts for his father Jean-Claude who I am sure was smiling down at his son tonight.

Absolutely
I’ll never suggest that any one player deserves to win a Championship. It just doesn’t work out that way in sports. If that was the case, Dirk Nowitzki would have had a ring by now.
But I won’t deny being happy to see a former Star, whose been through so much in just the last 2 to 3 years, get a chance to raise the Cup and get a ring.
Amazing, isn’t it? In a year where it looked for certain after the first two games that we’d have our first semblance of a dynasty in the post-lockout error, instead we get our fourth different Cup winner in four years.

I'm so happy for Boucher
It really is nice to see that this season worked out for him after everything he went through. When he was first traded, I was still optimistic that the Stars would get it together and have a great run and he’d have to miss it. Turns out it worked out better for him than for the Stars.
I’m also very happy for Sid.
