USA takes on France in World Championships
Sweden lost yesterday in overtime to Russia; neither Loui Eriksson nor Nicklas Grossman had a point. Right now, Matt Niskanen and Team USA is playing France in their first game of the qualifying round. Remember, you can also watch the game (for a fee) on IIHF.com

Just a note:
It’s great to see Al Montoya representing the USA in net. I watched him for several years play in Hartford and it was good to see him finally get a chance to start in the NHL once he was traded to Phoenix.

The commentary for these games is pretty funny. It’s obvious the announcer is not an experienced hockey announcer in English, but he gets into. Great quality though for a streaming live game (near HD quality).
Also, it’s hilarious to see even the refs are covered in sponsor patches.

France can’t stay out of the penalty box with 4 minors in the first 9 minutes of the game.

Add a 5 min major and game misconduct to France's list of penalty trouble.
Apparently it was a pretty bad slash.
