Steve Mason, Niklas Backstrom and Tim Thomas are all finalists for the Vezina trophy for the league's top goaltender. All three finish 1-2-3 in lowest goals-against average, with Tim Thomas leading the league with a 2.10 GAA. It's nice to see some new faces in the mix for the trophy, especially with the first rookie being nominated since Eddie Belfour in 1991. Tim Thomas is a great story when at age 35 he is enjoying the most success of his career.
