Dallas Stars prospect playoff update

While the Dallas Stars failed to make the playoffs, several Stars players and prospects' teams are still playing in the postseason in the AHL and Juniors. Here is an update on what's gone down so far.

  • The Manitoba Moose even their series at one game apiece with a 4-2 over the Toronto Marlies on Friday night. Stars defensive prospect Maxime Fortunus has one power play goal in the two games, and has registered five official total shots on net. Ray Sawada, who was briefly recalled by the Stars this season has a goal as well in the series. Mark Fistric, send back to Manitoba to help the team during the playoff run, has just one assist in the series but leads the team in hits. Former Dallas Stars favorite Mike Keane, who is the captain of the Moose, has no points and is a lowly -4 so far in the series. The series heads back to Toronto for game 3 on Sunday. You can listen to the game live by clicking here.
  • The Hamilton Bulldogs dropped game one of their series to Grand Rapids on Friday, and will look to even the series back up tonight. Dallas Stars defenseman Dan Jancevski had one assist last night in the loss.
  • The Peoria Rivermen won big in game one over the Houston Aeros 6-4, but were shutout in game two 2-0. Dallas Stars prospect Ivan Vishnevskiy, who impressed Stars fans in the final three games of the season, has just one assist in the series. Even more surprisingly, in the two games he combined has zero shots on goal.

  • The Kelowna Rockets, led by top Dallas Stars prospect Jamie Benn, start their Western Hockey League Conference Finals tonight against Vancouver. Benn leads all players in the playoffs with seven goals and 16 assists in just ten games. In the six game series against Tri-City Benn had four goals and six assists, including a game winning goal in overtime.
