Jamie Benn receives team MVP

Dallas Stars prospect Jamie Benn was named the team MVP last night for the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL.

In 56 games this season for the Rockets, Benn had 46 goals and 36 assists for 82 points and was the top scorer on the team. He was also the 15th ranked scorer in the WHL, despite playing an average of 15 less games than those ranked above him.

Benn

My pick to click next year. Back in September we were hearing how he was sooo close to making the team, I think that lit a fire under him. I know it’s a big jump, from juniors to the NHL, but he has the type of game (power forward) that I think would allow an easier transition to the NHL. I’d be excited to maybe see Sutherby between Neal and Benn. Talk about tenacious.
