Dallas Stars afternoon update: Jere Lehtinen close to returning

Mike Heika reports in from practice today with some encouraging news. Jere Lehtinen skated hard with the team and appears ready to play tomorrow night against Vancouver. Interestingly, Dave Tippett shuffled some players around in the anticipation of Lehtinen's return. Here are the lines today at practice as reported by Heika:

Ott-Ribeiro-Eriksson

Morrison-Modano-Lehtinen

Neal-Sutherby-Conner

Barch-Begin-Wilson

He also adds that Brunnstrom is close as well and could replace Conner on the third line.

What are your thoughts on the line combinations for when Lehtinen returns?

no no no

keep conner in the lineup. The kid has been playing veyr solid, makes things happen everytime he is on the ice and has meshed very well with Begin and Barch.

If Brunnstrom slides in the third line...

Then Conner will go on the fourth line with Barch and Begin. It’s a great combination too. I think Conner has played to well lately to scratch him.

Tough decision..

That’s what’s great about getting players back from injury. Landon Wilson has played well, but not as good as Conner. And while Brunnstrom has struggled at times this season, his offensive potential is much greater than Conner or Wilson.

Don’t forget, the line of Neal-Sutherby-Brunnstrom was great a few weeks ago and showed a ton of speed, grit and was dangerously offensively.

very true

you make good points, i would def. say though Wilson would be my candidate to sit because i really like what Connor has brought to the table the past few games.
