OT - horrible injury in the Panthers game
So I was briefly watching the Panthers v Thrasers game before the Stars game. The Thrashers score and Ballard (a Panther dman) goes to whack his stick against the goal post and hits Vokoun (the Panthers goalie) in the head. He goes down, blood on the ice and was just carried off the ice in a stretcher. It’s bad enough you have to worry the opposition hurting you but this was awful and not even necessary on Ballard’s part.

But as it stands, I don’t care if he wins the Calder. This kid is ROCK SOLID going both ways and I’m beginning to rethink my original position of wanting him to play in the AHL for the year.

I watched a Wings game the other night and he sounded just like this! Everything was a lame penalty… One piece sticks were the work of the devil… When he was playing they had to walk to St. Louis and then only if they won they were allowed to take a rickety old bus home…

Florida has had some bad luck with that
I remember when Jokinen got his skate up and sliced Zednik’s neck. Zeds skated to the bench with the blood pouring out of him. It was nasty. But that was during the play of the game. there wasn’t anything Ollie could’ve done about that. But Ballard – well all I can say is hopefully he’s learned a valuable lesson about always being in control of your temper and your stick.

It's like they're not developing the little daily habits
that make teams great. They learn from their mistakes for one game, maybe two, and then forget something else they need to be doing.

The one thing I especially hate about the Stars' inconsistency..
Is how we can make ANY goaltender look like Patrick-fucking-Roy. Seriously. Dan Ellis isn’t a stellar goaltender by any stretch of the imagination. Opening night was a DISGRACE. Remember we hung 5 on him a few nights later? Seriously! Rinse and repeat with a bunch of different teams. Remember everyone saying how well Toronto’s THIRD STRING goaltender was? Holy shit.

Now that I think about it..
I don’t think the Stars played the Leafs when they were sporting MacDonald. Did they? Bah. I can’t think straight I’m so frustrated. Lol.
Do you know what really gets me… Nashville has won like 7 in a row… I thought we were a better team…maybe not… do we not have the urgency? what is up with the Stars?
It's just so bizarre, why it can click so well on some nights and so not on others.

like the skyline in your rear view mirror as you’re driving south on I-75 and you still have your wheels and didn’t get shot

The Hub used to have to go there on business (auto industry).
Had to go through downtown to get from airport to their offices. Scary place.

I actually spent 4 spring breaks at the Joe watching the CCHA playoffs.
We stayed in the Ren Center, took the people mover to the Joe and never really went outside in Detroit. Windsor is not much better across the river in Canada but at least they have the casino.

Now that is just sad, no goals since then in front of his home crowd.
