Happy Thanksgiving From Defending Big D

Thanksgiving_mediumIt's Thanksgiving, and we have plenty to be thankful for today as Dallas Stars fans. Despite not winning last night, at least the Stars fought back enough to get a point and everyone walked away from what could have been an ugly game relatively unscathed.

Just like with every holiday, please send your thoughts and prayers to the men and women in uniform across our nation and abroad. I've spent several Thanksgivings away and I can attest that while we are certainly proud to be serving our country at any time, holidays are tough. Especially when you're stuck eating submarine turkey and gravy.

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe holiday. I'll be enjoying football pretty much all day today, while trying my hardest not to fall asleep on the couch in a tryptophan stupor. It's tradition.

I also wanted to say just how thankful I am for our community here. We started from scratch and now have grown into a close-knit and dedicated group of fans that grows larger by the day. I can't say enough about how proud I am to be a part of such a great community.

From all of us here at Defending Big D to all of our faithful readers, Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanks for asking.

We’re going to officially start up the podcast next week. The flu, and some technical difficulties have kept us off the air for a bit. Good to know we’re missed.

thank you!

Thank you to our Troops and all active and past military people (not just the actual military personnel, but everyone associated).

Brandon: Thank you for putting this blog together. It’s quickly become one of my main sources for Stars news. I actually found out about the Tipp firing via DBD.

(and yes, I created an account just to give both of these thanks, what of it? :P)

Happy Thanksgiving All

Even though I live in Canada and we celebrated in October, wish you all the best from the great white north and thanks for the wicked coverage. I’ve been a fan ever since Dave Gagner was on the team in ‘92. He grew up as my Dad’s neighbour in Chatham, Ontario. I’ve never seen such in depth updates on the Stars as this site and I just wanted to say I appreciate it.

Keep up the good work!
